Painter, teacher and commercial artist born in Salford, Lancashire. After Manchester Grammar School he attended Salford School of Art (1941-2), then Manchester Municipal School of Art (1942-7). Gordon also held a series of government and industrial jobs. He lived in Eccles, Lancashire.
