Illustrator and portrait painter, born in London. He moved to Devon, then Looe in Cornwall in 1962. Tewfik studied at Plymouth College of Art and Design (1973-4) and Epsom School of Art and Design (1974-77). As a student, he won The David Murray Landscape Scholarship and the British Institution Award, both from the Royal Academy of Art. An illustrator for many national and international publications and a respected portraitist; exhibiting regularly at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
