Born Leicester, Carol Ann Grace studied Fine Arts at various colleges and universities in the Midlands before moving to Norfolk in 1973 with her architect husband and two young sons. She opened her own studio in King’s Lynn in 1977, exhibiting and selling woven textiles and paintings. During the 1980’s she also worked part-time as a lecturer at the Norfolk College of Arts and Technology, as well as teaching privately and for Adult Education. Her current work is about investigating archaeological influences on the landscape via mostly large-scale paintings in acrylic and mixed media incorporating vibrant colour, texture and spontaneous, gestural mark-making.
