David Baxter

Born in Norwich, David Baxter attended City of Norwich Grammar School where he was taught by well-known Norfolk artist Hamilton Wood. He has been greatly influenced by the East Anglian artists of the 20th Century: Arnesby Brown, Edward Seago, Alfred Munnings, Ken Howard. He is also an admirer of the French Impressionists and their use of light and shadow. A painter in oil and pastel, his favourite subjects are beach scenes, rural landscape and views of Venice.
