Geoffrey Chatten
Mundesley Winterton Dunes

b. 1938 -

An accomplished English contemporary painter of rural, still life and coastal scenes. He was born in Gorleston-on-Sea, Norfolk. A keen interest in nature led to his first job, with the Forestry Commission. He began his professional career when he was encouraged to start painting during the 1960s. His paintings have an unrivalled vibrancy and beauty as they reflect the stunning Norfolk landscape through a technique of painting which is completely his own. His working method involves production of many sketches followed by later studio development of finished paintings, usually in oils on canvas.

Geoffrey Chatten’s work has been very popular in England, Europe and the United States for many years. In 1994 he was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists.
