Naomi Munuo
Head

Young Ipswich-based artist, trained at Kent Institute of Art and Design (Maidstone) (1988-89), Central St. Martin’s College of Art and Design (London - Fashion Design) (1989-1992) and Goldsmith’s College of Art and Design (London) (1999-2000).

Munuo is inspired by the human figure, illustrating it using richly textured, irregular shapes. Her work involves layered collage incorporating elements of wax resist, batik, ink, oil, pastels and acrylic. Busts are one of her recurring subjects, likely a direct tribute to her father, a Royal-Academy trained scupltor. She has built upon this parental influence through her training; her mother is an abstract painter, also Royal Academy trained.
